Why 16/27?
In 1919, German physicist Albert Betz first described the flow of fluid
through a wind turbine.
From first principles, he derived the maximum proportion of the total kinetic energy in the moving air that can be extracted using a wind turbine - 16/27ths or roughly 59.3%.
We have named ourselves after this fundamental physical principle because every renewable energy project is constrained by many such limiting factors:
Raw energy potential, technology, environmental impact, legal security, feed-in tariffs, debt and equity financing, project and country risk all play a crucial role in a
project's success. Ignore one, and an otherwise healthy project can become worthless.
We have been around renewables since the pioneering years of the mid-90s and experienced first-hand the evolution of this global and complex industry
. Our team has comprehensive knowledge of all factors that both define and limit project value.
